Synopsis:

Tamara is a witch and proud of it, but when an innocent spell goes horribly wrong, she ends up in the hospital. Again With death rearing its ugly head once more, Tamara knows she should ignore the handsome firefighter who seems captivated by her magical burns. Though she wants to forget about him and that fateful night, Dante is persistent, and soon she doesn’t know which of them is teaching the other about magic. Tamara puts up a good fight against the strong attraction she feels for Dante, but it’s a losing battle as she finds herself falling head over heels in love. The only problem? She’s dying and doesn’t want to leave behind anyone to mourn her.

SRR GRADE: B+

While this is supposed to be a short story, it is part of a well-developed series involving a coven of Wiccans who gather to cast a difficult spell that seems to go array. In this initial  installment, Witchy Woes: Tamara, the main character deals with how to handle the repercussions from the spell, the upheavals/changes in her life and a new relationship that is developing at the same time. While dealing with her coven's problems is paramount to Tamara, she also has a personal, health issue weighing on her mind. Added to these problems is Dante Sullivan, the gorgeous fireman who has dropped in to add more spice to her life. What's a girl to do?

Ms. Hasker's writing is both fast-paced and descriptive; even though the story is short the reader is given the impression of much lengthier tale.  I appreciated the fact that the scenes describing the coven's meetings were just as detailed and vivid as the love scenes. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and look forward to the next installments with great anticipation….
