Synopsis:

Is there such a thing as being too close, knowing each other too well?

Lauren Stokes put a lid on her attraction toward her best friend Seth Escamilla years ago. She would never be his type of woman, so why torture herself? When sexual awareness strikes during a friendly football game, she is stunned. He is guilty for injuring her and looks after her, but Lauren resorts to wisecracking to distance herself from him.

Seth is confused by the new emotions swamping him. This is Lauren, his best friend, someone he has fun with, not someone he has fun with! He has no plan to settle down, and he won’t risk their friendship when they have no future.

They resist the new attraction, and the efforts of their families to push them together. When a wedding loosens their inhibitions, keeping the new aspect of their relationship a secret is harder than they would have thought.

SRR GRADE: A

Best friends for twenty-five years and it only took one full body tackle during a Thanksgiving football game to change everything.

Lauren Stokes is like every other normal red-blooded woman, and it’s a good thing Seth’s a firefighter and EMT, cause this man is a four alarm fire on his own. Add CPR with that studpuppy—talk about howling at the moon!

Seth Escamilla had never thought of sex and Lauren together—ever. Until he tasted that first kiss he could lie to himself for a while. Unexpected for both of them, irresistible after that.  After putting up a fight for several weeks—at a wedding reception all bets are off. It only takes one hot sexy dance to set the blaze on fire.

There is a fly in the ointment. Seth has never had a relationship last more than a month. Course, if he’s anything like his father, he’ll only end up hurting Lauren when he cheats.
When the truth of affairs come to light, it only reinforces Seth’s determination to end it before it gets any worse.

Lauren is crushed when Seth breaks up with her. More than their friendship and affair ends with it.Can they find their way back to each other or is it truly too late for anyone?

This book is fantastic! Warning: It’ll make you laugh, it’ll make you cry, and you’ll want to bash a few hard heads before it’s over.  I couldn’t put it down until I finished it!
