When the World is Right is a very short story only
twelve pages. Margo Hoornstra writes an interesting chapter but really
that’s all it is. There just isn’t enough depth to build on
characterization or setting. All we really know is that the husband is
sorry he and his wife had a fight. Most newlyweds would realize that it
is a common occurrence with growing pains the norm for most new marriages.
I really tried to get into this story but there just wasn’t enough
to it. The writing is excellent, and I really think if Ms. Hoornstra wanted
to turn this into a true short story that it would be a good read.
