Synopsis:
What happens when a fairytale-believing wedding planner and a jaded hot-rod
builder who thinks love is nothing more than a chemical reaction end up on
opposite sides of the aisle at the wedding of her best friend and his
brother? A wedding war erupts.
Jake Ryan will do just about anything to keep his brother from making the
same mistake he made. He’s convinced there won’t be a wedding because he’s
out to stop it. Mia Briscoe’s determined this will be the most spectacular
wedding she’s ever planned. The only problem? The groom's drop-dead gorgeous
brother wants to stop the wedding. And when she discovers he’s out to break
up the happy couple? The battle begins.
Jake and Mia have both suffered deep emotional wounds that prevent them from
making lasting connections. And both are baffled by the intense feelings
they bring out in each other. Can Mia teach Jake that love is something to
cherish and not loathe? And if she can, will he be strong enough to bury his
past so they can have a chance at a future together?

Mia Briscoe is a wedding planner. Her plans for the next few weeks is to
help her best friend Jillian have the best wedding ever.
But luck doesn’t seem to be on Mia’s side. Strike one—from the moment she
boards the airplane there’s a hunky stud that refuses to move out of her
assigned seat and sets off to show that most men as born asses. Strike
two—then after she is reunited with her best friend and meets the soon to be
husband, Gabe, she learns that Mr. Asshole is the groom’s brother. Strike
three –Jake, is determined to see that this wedding doesn’t take place.
What Mia doesn’t know is that Jillian is playing matchmaker and puts Jake
and Mia together in the guesthouse hoping the two will come together. And
they do if you count butting heads coming together. Mia knows that even
though Jake is being a first class jerk, he is the sexiest thing she’s ever
laid eyes on.
But with that first kiss both of them know they’re in way over their heads.
Even as they try to fight the sexual attraction it only takes one time in
bed for all good intentions to shoot to hell. Before they know it, they’re
the one’s acting like soon to be honeymooners. But when an unwelcome guest
shows up at the rehearsal, it looks like everything is over, her affair with
Jake and the wedding between Gabe and Jillian.
Gabe and Jillian are able to work things out, but when it comes to Mia and
Jake, he reverts back to the jackass she met the first day, and in turn he
breaks her heart. No matter how much she tries to tell herself that it was
just a fling, her heart isn’t listening and the recovery is slow and
painful.
Only when an agonizing truth is revealed can any healing start. But is it
too late for Jake and Mia. Cause Jake’s told her under no uncertain terms
that what they had was over and she needed to move on. Trying to do just
that she finds herself at a life altering crossroads. The choice she makes
could make could give her a chance at happiness or plunge her into the
deepest heartache ever.
Wow! Mia is all lemonade with little sugar and Jake as a sexy beast as he
is, he’s just asking to be mounted. True he aggravates Mia to get a rise out
of her, but she does it to him in the most visual way there is. This book
has gone on my keeper shelf. It has its funny moments and there’s places I
swear I almost went through a box of Kleenex. A really great read!
