Synopsis:
The estranged youngest son of an earl, Gabriel Renfrew earned glory and
honor on the battlefield, but now, without purpose, he finds himself
deliberately courting danger. One night he races his horse along a
death-defying moonlit cliff—and stumbles upon a beautiful woman obviously in
need of saving…
A princess on the run, Callie has disguised herself and her son, the Crown
Prince, as commoners, hoping to protect him from those intent on stealing
the throne. She has no choice but to trust the handsome ex-officer who’s
come to her rescue, even when he insists that only a marriage of convenience
will provide her the ultimate protection. Can her new husband keep Callie
and her son safe from assassins? And what will he do to her heart?

Anne Gracie is one of my
favorite authors. The first book that I read by her was The Perfect
Stranger and I absolutely fell in love with the story and the
characters. I remember even writing a letter to her telling her how much I
adored her book. Afterwards, I went a bit crazy and tried to buy and read
everything she wrote before then. Of course, I’ve read the books since she
wrote The Perfect Stranger and I still think that she a fabulous romance
author who ranks high on my list of favorite authors. So, with that said, I
absolutely loved every page of Anne Gracie’s new release, The Stolen
Princess.
I simply fell head over heals for the hero if this book, Gabriel Renfrew.
He’s the embodiment of the perfect hero. Considering that he had a less than
perfect upbringing, Gabriel is an affection man and he’s brave, honorable
and trust worthy. He’s an honored soldier and an honored friend. When he
finds Callie and her son on a rainy night on a dangerous cliff, his
protective nature takes over and takes them to his home. He has no idea that
this woman is a Princess and her son the next heir to the throne and that
they’re running for their lives away from a man who is intent on the throne
himself.
Princess Caroline (Callie) of Zindaria and her son Nicky are on the run from
her home country. Someone almost successfully poisoned her son and no one in
the royal family believes her. She must seek protection elsewhere since her
own husband was murdered. Not that that is a real hardship for Callie, her
husband was a mean man and treated Callie and Nicky horribly. Seeking a
passage to England she finds herself on a smugglers boat and very
nonchalantly thrown off when she was close to her destination. Even though
the weather was rainy and the terrain was treacherous, she managed to get
herself and her son on some kind of path after the captain made her leave
the boat.
Gabriel is instantly attracted to her and he is even gentle towards her son.
He’s willing to help her when he finds out her true identity even though
Callie is cautious about trusting him (since she’s been mistreated by the
men in her life) she can’t deny how courteous he is to her and her son.
Callie is one touch heroine and she has a fierce protectiveness over her son
that in itself is admirable. There’s a very tough side to Callie, yet
there’s a hidden sensuality to her and Gabriel wants to explore that side of
her and bring their relationship to new heights. When danger finds them at
Gabriel’s house, a decision needs to be made regarding Callie and Nick’s
future and Gabriel is directly involved with keeping Callie and Nicky safe –
even if I means wedding her in a marriage of convenience.
This is no typical marriage of convenience plot. The Stolen Princess
is a beautiful love story between two wonderful and caring people even
though they show their intentions in different ways. Their romance isn’t
hurried but that doesn’t mean that they don’t share passionate embraces
before their consummation. There is a lot of sexual tension between Callie
and Gabriel and that just makes this story even more gratifying.
The secondary characters in this story are just as intriguing. This is the
first book in Anne Gracie’s Devil Rider’s series and we are
introduced to the men who are going to be involved in the other books. I
absolutely loved The Stolen Princess and I am definitely recommending
it to you!
