Gabrielle Porter is a successful jewelry designer uninterested in commitment
but likes a little kink in her sex life. That kink takes the form of a
submissive at Succulent. The club provides a safe place for her to indulge,
their rules allow members to list what they are willing and unwilling to do.
Max Stephenson is captivated by Cassandra from the first moment he sees her
at Succulent. Their first encounter is memorable for both and they meet
again.
The Gilded Cage takes a familiar premise of a closet submissive
meeting and falling in love with a Dom. As the saying goes, there are only
so many plots but infinite ways to tell the story. Ms. Greene brings a fresh
approach to the story and while the characters should be jaded, they are
both refreshingly not. Gabrielle possesses a core innocence that is
attractive not only to Max but the reader as well. Max while co-owner of
Succulent is also an environmental engineer instead of the usual investment
banker, or corporate tycoon familiar to most romance readers.
If you like your BDSM gentle, or are curious about BDSM this is an excellent
book to start with. Those with a rougher palate will still enjoy it but not
as much. |
