Shadow Walk is a dark fantasy story by author Devyn
Quinn. It is a little different than the other books I’ve read by
her but definitely interesting. The characters in her stories are always
flawed and this one is no exception, and that is part of what makes her
writing so enjoyable to read.
Adri has been in training for 21 years to enter the part of her life
which will ultimately make her a goddess. Going through the rituals of
readiness she experiences doubts about what she is doing but convinces
herself this is what she was born to do. That is until at the end of the
ceremony rebel men kidnap her and many other women and take them to their
camp. Looking for wives the men determine that she is not wife material
and Adri sure she will be put to death that is until their leader Ardan
decides to put her in his protection.
Shadow Walk forces you to examine your own thoughts
about blindly following a path. As always Ms. Quinn builds her worlds
with great detail to the point that you can close your eyes and envision
the scenes. Shadow Walk has it all with more than enough
evil, twists, turns and steam to heat you up.
