Synopsis:

In honor of her friend's birthday, Bev Navarro does something she swore never to do again, enter Holden Lancaster's home. At one time the two had been part of a close-knit group of friends, but that all changed thanks to one game of Seven Minutes in Heaven.

Holden can't understand why Bev is avoiding him. He can only hope tonight's festivities will give them the time needed to mend old wounds. But one look at her face tells him he's in for a night of disappointments.

The birthday surprise is on them though, because they're receiving a gift neither will ever forget. The stopwatch is going, and the only question is, will they make the same mistake the second time around?

Seven Minutes in Heaven. You know, the game you probably played when you were in Jr. High School and the game that could make or break your reputation. So why on Earth would a close group of friends decide to play? Did I tell you they are in their late twenties? Bev would like nothing more than to have Holden pick her name from the hat and he does; right? In the closet, Holden shoots Bev to the moon and as she is about to reciprocate, he tells her that he really didn't pull her name. Hold the phone! Bev does just that for two years. Will gifts presented to them to assist in a do-over be enough to get them back on track? And what is going on with their friends? Are there more secrets that haven't been shared that need to come out of the closet?

I really enjoyed reading Seven Minutes in Heaven by Lena Matthews and I recommend you do too. Just prepare yourself for a trip down Memory Lane.  Ms. Matthews brought something that probably traumatized so many of us as teenagers into our adult lives with a lot of sizzle. Having a close knit group friends of both sexes that you can lean on is a treasure and this book showed that.  It also showed that communication is the basis of a romance.  A little swat to the butt doesn't hurt either.  Seven Minutes in Heaven was a Jr. High School story grown up and when I say grown up, this is something that will make you breathless like your first kiss.
