Synopsis:
Ali is a mermaid on a mission. Her aunt wishes to permanently return to
the sea so Ali needs to find the Guardian, lure him if she must, and
exchange her protective aquamarines for the mermaid treasure he safeguards.
But oh, how things change when a sexy, blue-eyed Devlin spins those plans
into a corkscrew dive Ali’s not certain she wants to come out of.
Devlin is happy to honor his cousin’s demand to give the “princess” whatever

Alissa Nye—Ali is a mermaid and has been given a sacred
responsibility by her mother so that she can help her aunt. Her aunt has
decided to return to the sea rather than stay on land since her husband has
died. But the only way that she will be able to do this is when a certain
ritual is completed. Ali is the only one that can do if for she is the
oldest mermaid in her line that still has her stones.
To complete this ritual she needs a Guardian. A Guardian of the Keith line.
Both lineages goes back hundreds of years intertwining over time. Ali hops a
plane to find Dr. Ryen Keith, the youngest of the Keith males.. There is a
sacrifice that is necessary, but Ali is willing to pay it for the sake of
family.
She is willing to do her duty but when she lays eyes on Devlin, Ryen’s
cousin, that ‘duty’ becomes pleasure and she is more than willing to take on
the task at hand
When Ryen realizes who she is, he instructs Devlin to make her comfortable
until he can clear his schedule of patients.
Within moments of entering the apartment the pull between them is
overwhelming. Ali tries to explain that what Dev is feeling is the call of
her siren, but Dev knows better. He caught glimpses of her siren and isn’t
attracted to her allure, if anything it turns him off. He wants the real
Ali, the one that sets his blood on fire.
As Dev and Ali spend more time together, they realize the feelings are more
than sexual. Though the sexual heat between them is consuming.
In a horrifying moment during the ritual, Ali learns that Dev is in danger
of losing his soul to the call of another siren. She uses the connection
between them, giving everything in her soul to give him the strength to do
what has only been done once before.
But will there be a happily ever after for these two? After all, what
they’ve had so far is sex, can the other aspects of their lives blend? They
both do come from different worlds.
M.A. might have gone on a different path this time, shifting from her hunky
Hendersons- but as always, she has a way to pull you into her world and make
you love the characters she brings to life. I laughed so hard in some places
my sides hurt.
M.A. has a unique sense of humor and her one liners are original and will
crack you up. I truly love the aspect that her heroes and heroines are
normal people with normal problems and normal feelings and passion. No
matter the genre she chooses to write in, M.A. is one of the best of the
best! You don’t want to miss this.
