Roman Rhapsody
explores dreams, past lives and how it changes us for the future. This was
a very different kind of story, and the dreams that the Olivia has are very
erotic, Rita Trevaylan only alludes to their content, leaving us using our
imaginations.
Olivia has it all, more money than she
knows what to do with, two children who are about to head off to college and
a husband who seems to really appreciate her even if he travels most of the
time. She is sure he gets a little on the side but she doesn’t blame him
since he is away so much. But she can’t shake this feeling of ennui – bone
deep boredom. So she searches for an a respite from the boredom but
shopping, surfing the web and her volunteer work just doesn’t do it for
her. It takes hypnotherapy into her past lives to bring her out of her
funk.
Roman Rhapsody
twists and turns and weaves all around in this tale of murder, mayhem and
some swinging along the way. I was disappointed in the Olivia character,
she was just too blasé about her husband’s indiscretions, but I guess if you
have all that money can buy what’s a little fling on the side? If you’re
looking for something out of the ordinary and interested in past lives give
this one a chance. It could trigger some interesting dreams of your own.
