Synopsis:
Kari Winchester considers her visions a curse. She can't understand why
she has visions when she's never able to help anyone. This time, she prays
Brenda Blackstone's case will be different and she'll find the teenager
before it's too late.
Slade Blackstone left the Reno police force after ten years and started his
own private investigation business. With his father owning the largest, most
successful hotel and casino on the north shore of Lake Tahoe, he's seen his
share of con artists. Kari Winchester tops them all. He's going to put a
stop to her little scheme before she has the chance to get money out of his
father.
He hadn't counted on falling for her with one look.

When a vision of a hurt young woman seizes
Kari Winchester while she is planning a weekend getaway to North Lake Tahoe,
Kari knows she has to find out who the young woman is and where she is
before it's too late. She has tried going the law enforcement route before
only to be patronized and told that they would call her if they needed her
assistance. This time she would try to talk to the family so they would be
able to tell she is sincere and not just some crackpot or con artist after
the family's money. Slade Blackstone doesn't buy Kari's tale of his sister
being in danger. He needs proof. But what kind of proof can Kari give him
besides her word and her heart? Will he accept either?
Premonition was a fantastic "Oh wow" read. Ms.
Lafleur's detailing made me feel that there was no way Slade was going to
change his mind and actually consider Kari genuinely wanting to help find
his sister.
I felt that if Kari didn't give Brenda's case 110%,
she would have never forgiven herself. The romance that bloomed from Kari's
refusal to give up on something she believed so deeply was endearing. There
was not a single character in this story that I didn't feel a connection
with. This is a great story to read while cuddling up to a huge fire in the
fireplace and enjoying a cup of hot chocolate.
Though, it may make you overheat because the sex
scenes were smoking.
