In Neptune's Lair  by Dorothy McFalls Brendan Cromerty  and Dallas St. Johns have what she believes is a chance meeting after a strange erotic dream leads her directly to him in an alley. Following this dream and subsequent meeting, they are at times drawn to each other and at others wary and compelled to stay away. Brendan knows that magic is involved in their relationship and it is his task to convince Dallas of this as well, and to have her join his cause. Little does he realize, this task will be more difficult that any other he has ever undertaken.

The world that Ms. McFalls has created is a very detailed and vivid one allowing her characters to inhabit more than one dimension. This dimension is the pivotal element in the story, all action occurs here and only Dallas and Brendan are the inhabitants. The love scenes between Dallas and Brendan are very descriptive: Ms. McFalls beautifully paints a picture of the lovers in the alternate dimension insuring the reader sees the differences between the fantasy world and the real one as a reminder that it is only occupied by Dallas and Brendan. We are again reminded that while Neptune's Lair stresses the relationship between the lovers, it is also a story of good verses evil; that outside of this dimension evil does exist. Happily, in this instance, as with all good romances good does triumph. Read the book, you'll be happy you did.
