It is a time of draught and forest fires and the land is being decimated. There seems to be only one solution and in Nature’s Pentacle we meet a group of witches who are determined to turn the tides. Carrying out a forbidden ritual the land turns green overnight, and if that didn’t bring enough attention, one witch steps forward and takes credit and outs them all which is when all hell breaks loose. Eden Rivers writes a very magical book, the development of the plot line and the characters grab you from the first page. Traveling most of the United States this group of witches find themselves in a battle with other witches who want to change the rules as well as regular citizens who are ready to kill anything that is not “normal.”

Lena sees herself as different from other witches, with a deep dark secret in her background she refuses to get close to anyone, especially another witch. Spending her time working in the children’s section of the library and taking care of her dying mother and high school student sister is just about more than she can handle. But she’s strong in her power and can’t resist helping to heal the earth when approached about the ritual.

Matt is a grower by nature, owns his own nursery and garden center, he can love but not trust his friends, until he meets Lena. Paired for the ritual they become joined together for more than just the one magical rite. Soon they are on the run for their lives, and feelings neither of them wanted become a conflagration of sex and power sharing.

Nature’s Pentacle is an outstanding read and Ms. Rivers does a brilliant job building her world. The story is extremely fast paced with lots of twists, double crossing and some of the hottest sex scenes imaginable. The end leaves the definite opening for a continuing series and I sincerely hope that Ms. Rivers continues on with these characters. Give this one a try and experience some steamy magic for yourself.
