Synopsis:
Kayla, bodyguard to the Princess Lysandra, must convey her charge to the
home world of her future husband to finalize a treaty between the two
planets. But someone wants to prevent that by assassinating the princess en

In Elyssa Lynne's
Illicit Affair, Illicit just happens to be both the name of the ship
ferrying the passengers to their final destination, and the state of the
main characters' relationship. When Kayla and Jarrod meet again after a two
year separation, Kayla is on a job protecting a princess from possible
assassination after boarding Jarrod's ship the Illicit. Watching the former
lovers handle the situations that arise while becoming reacquainted, makes
for a very entertaining and humorous story, especially as they strive to
keep their new relationship a secret from their traveling companions.
Ms. Lynne shows a
deft hand at writing both the humorous and the passionate scenes between her
two main characters, incorporating their past encounters into the present as
a means of explaining their current attitudes and behaviors. She is very
adept at character development, even her "less visible" secondary characters
have very distinct quarks and traits that give them depth and make them
unforgettable. Illicit Affair is an exceptional story: fun and
exciting. Anyone who believes in the power of laughter as positive therapy
needs to read this book – it is a keeper.
