Highlander Ever After by Jennifer Ashley is one of my new favorite
books. Jennifer Ashley knows how to write romance! Highlander Ever
After is the third book in her Nvengaria series. The two
previous books were Penelope and Prince Charming and The Mad, Bad
Duke. Being that I am a huge of fan of Ms. Ashley, it is safe for me to
say that the third installment of her series is my favorite so far. I would
like to thank Egan McDonald, the hero of this story, for helping me with my
decision. Ewan is yummy, scrumptious and very sexy. I just love those
highlanders!
I will admit though, that the heroine, Princess Zarabeth is one tough woman
and a great match Egan. When Egan was recovery years ago at her home, she
started to fall in love with him. She has the gift of being able to read
people’s thoughts, but Egan was the only one she couldn’t read. Now that’s
she woman and a “guest” at Egan’s castle, she’s going to try everything in
her power to break through the wall that Egan built around himself.
Egan can’t help that he is utterly taken with Zarabeth. However, he has
more important things to worry about right now one being a family curse and
the other is trying to protect Zarabeth from harm. Egan can only do so much
because every time they are together, the sexual tension between them
increases more and more. Egan’s first responsibility is to her safety and
he can’t let that get in the way of his lust.
Highlander Ever After is filled with great secondary characters a
smidgen of magic and a whole lot of romance. If you haven’t read the other
two books in the series, that’s okay because this book stands alone,
although I will admit that the previous two books are great reads, too.
Jennifer Ashley wrote a book that I can easily read over and over again!
