Fourth Time's the Charm
Lily Rose Moon

The Wild Rose Press
March 2008
Fantasy

Synopsis:

Rowena, the seventh daughter of a seventh daughter, is a young witch whose spells have a tendency to go awry. She is determined to find a successful invisibility spell to regain her self-respect and get back into the good graces of her local Counsel of the Craft, but when the spell goes awry for the third time, she accidentally turns her neighbor’s cat invisible. When her neighbor Michael comes looking for his cat an attraction flares between the two. Rowena is powerfully attracted to him but not overly optimistic about it; she hasn’t had much luck with relationships. When her reversal spell goes awry, things go from bad to worse. If Rowena finally fixes this situation (and she's not so sure she can), will Michael still want to be with her?

SRR GRADE:  C

Rowena isn’t a great witch.. She’s not even a good witch. All of her spells go awry and now she’s turned her neighbor’s cat invisible. When she tries to reverse the spell, Michael, Tinkerbelle’s owner walks in at the worst possible time. Now Tink is visible, but Michael isn’t.

Doubting her gift, she calls upon her grandmother and her familiar for help. As they work on fixing the spell Tink and Michael both become visible… but they’re in the wrong bodies.

Rowena is at her wits end and scraping the barrel in self-confidence. She’s going to try one last time, but if things don’t work, that’s it, she’s giving up being a witch for good.

Thank goodness the fourth time’s the charm. Not only does she get the spell right, she gets her sexy neighbor too.

Cut and funny, I just wish it had been a bit longer with a little more detail to really make the story pop.
