Synopsis:

In the rarified domain of Beverly Hills, easy money and intrigue spark a series of conflicts that can only end in disaster. Lovely Shannon Billips is the top sales person for an elite matchmaking service for singles. However, she is unaware that her cocaine-addicted boss is using the company as a front to run a high-priced prostitution ring that the cops are anxious to close down. Complicating matters even more, Shannon finds herself falling in love with a handsome writer of erotica who may be more liar than lover.

SRR GRADE: C+

After reading the synopsis I expected a totally different book than what it turned out to be.  Yes there was a love story between Shannon and Eric but it was buried deep.

There were so many side stories it was sometimes hard to keep track of who was doing what with whom.  There was drug dealing, cheating, prostitution, just plain old manipulation and it all revolved around a matchmaking agency in the Los Angeles area.

Exotica Zone was more of a straight fiction novel with some sex thrown in for good measure.  The characters were pretty well developed but the story stalled in places.  The title of the book doesn’t give a good indication of the story either – since it refers to the erotica book written by Eric, which is one of the smallest developed relationships of this story.

If you like a good old fashioned who did what and how the you’ll probably enjoy this book, but if you’re looking for a love story you’re definitely looking in the wrong place.
