In Enchantment’s
Embrace one trial after another keeps crashing down upon the heads of
these two lovers. They suffer constant roadblocks in their pursuit of love
and happiness together.
Their story begins 120
years in the past and through the use of a time Portal they are able to
travel between 1883 and the present. Of course all the trouble travels with
them. Each time they hope to have rid themselves of danger a new threat
appears to take its place.
Uriah has spent most of
his life waiting for Eryn, his one true love. While Eryn had spent the past
twenty years not even knowing he existed. After traveling through the Portal
for the first time to escape the pain of losing her family she had lost all
memory of her past. All of this came out in the first book of the series
entitled Visions of Enchantment. Enchantment’s Embrace picks
up where the first book left off and there are two books to follow before
this saga has come to its conclusion.
The basic story itself --
the love between Eryn and Uriah -- is good but I had trouble following all
the twists and turns. The flashbacks were distracting to the overall story
and if you have not read the first book there were holes you couldn’t fill.
The book has unrealistic dialogue whether they were in 1883 or the present,
the sentence structure is choppy and at times it felt as if the continuity
was off.
I enjoy reading time
travel stories and I had high hopes for this one but unfortunately it fell
flat for me. However, the love story is solid, and if you can overlook the
flaws, like time travel tales and reading about two people who have to move
heaven and earth to be together you will enjoy this book.
