In Deep Cover
Anna J. Evans gives us a snapshot look into the ongoing relationship between
Calen and Samantha. These characters have a history together and are
already bound by friendship when we meet them. So it is an easily
believable transition when they realize they are in love with each other.
The scene is New York
City almost 50 years in the future and we are introduced to aliens from
other worlds – Mages who take great pleasure in being sadistic and sometimes
causing death to the ones chosen as their submissives. And what makes this
worse? The Mages can use mind control to make the submissive believe that
this is exactly what she wants.
Samantha and Calen
have been working on a task force to stop the Mages from harming human
women. When Calen gets the assignment to act as one of them and go
undercover into this dangerous world, Samantha is furious that she can’t be
his backup. And this is where the story begins…
Samantha is such a strong character and
yet Ms. Evans convinces us that deep inside she has the need to submit – but
not just to any one, only to the one she loves. I felt every doubt and fear
that went through her mind. Calen is equally well written, his background
and buildup to this brief window into their relationship defines him so well
that we know what kind of a man he truly is. The erotic scene in the S&M
club was pure sizzling passion and one I won’t be able to forget for quite a
while. I highly recommend this story, I loved Deep Cover it is the
perfect escape for a long evening.
