Touted as romantic
suspense, I would say that Dangerous Desire is more of a contemporary
story. I didn’t feel any real suspense but there were some twists and turns
along the way. Romona Hilliger creates interesting characters with honest
feelings that the reader can relate to. The plot is a little thin in places
but the story holds your attention.
Jamie is not your
proto-typical biker, he helps out in a halfway house and teaches creative
writing to adults while trying to write his own novel. Amy, disenchanted
with her life and her husband, takes Jamie’s class. From almost the first
moment their eyes meet there is the force of attraction between them. But
Jamie is living with a woman and Amy is married – so they suffer in
silence. Each thinks they are hiding their feelings from the other and they
try to go on with their lives.
I would have liked the
story to take a slightly different turn but I understand why Ms. Hilliger
wrote it the way she did and it was a satisfying ending. There was a lot of
build up between these two throughout most of the story which keeps the
reader hoping for a happily ever after. Dangerous Desire reads
quickly and is entertaining one you are sure to enjoy.
