Synopsis:

The last thing Alpha Agent Mikhail Fallon wanted was a partner, and a human partner at that. His special powers as a Reaper were all he needed to get the job done. A human, even one with psychic powers, would only get in the way and especially so if she was a female.

Keenan McCullough took one look at the man with whom she was to partner and felt a chill go through her. It wasn't the deadly persona he gave off, the growl aimed her way, the way his eyes flicked at her with disdain. What scared Keenan was her immediate and overwhelming attraction to the tall, dark and hands-off killer. She wasn't looking for an attachment but one had just found her.

Fallon and Keenan come together like matches and gasoline—a heated explosion just waiting to erupt. Their bodies on fire with a need neither can satisfy anywhere else, it is only a matter of time before their passions will detonate. For them, primal lust is a time bomb waiting to explode.

Dancing on the Wind is an amazing story! It is the first book I’ve read by Charlotte Boyett-Compo but it definitely will not be my last and the story is already on my Keeper Shelf. The plot is complex, with so many twists and turns you will be trying to catch your breath and read faster all at the same time. The story grabs you, ties you in knots and doesn’t let go until the very last word. Between the dangerous missions and the smoldering erotic scenes you will need to keep an icy cold drink nearby. From the beginning I was hooked and experienced each emotion as if it were my own; with the real possibility that the characters will not find their happily ever after there were several times I reached for the tissues as I cried for their torment.

Alpha agent Misha Fallon doesn’t want a partner but that’s just what he gets. Given no choice in the matter he has to accept Keenan McCullough as his “extension.” She is a human and he sees no need for her after all he’s a reaper and can take care of himself.

The first time Keenan sees him Misha explodes out of the Supervisor’s office and screams that he doesn’t need or want a partner. Obviously Keenan’s not all that happy with the arrangement either but also has no choice in the matter and she accepts her fate. Misha thinks to scare Keenan off with his surly and suggestive attitude but is in for the shock of his life when the opposite occurs.

There is not one wasted word in Dancing on the Wind, each character stretched to their limits, each scene significant, touches of humor and edge of your seat tension throughout. There are plots and subplots and Ms. Boyett-Compo still manages to write all of her characters in a way that they can’t be ignored. Dancing on the Wind is one hell of a book. I couldn’t put it down and actually read well into the early morning hours until I had finished. If you have never read anything written by this author then I suggest you do, and if you’re already a fan make sure you don’t miss this one.
