Synopsis:
When Mike
Tucker dumps crème brûlée down chef Patrice Wilson’s
dress whites, she knows it’s time to forget her life-long crush
and move on. It isn’t until she’s no longer speaking to him
that Mike realizes he’s loved her all along. His just-before-Christmas
campaign to win her back involves four nosey parents, three scoops of
ice cream, two other suitors and a Don Quixote singing troubadour.

Rising Chef Patrice Wilson has had it with Mike Tucker. Not only has
ignored her love for him and called her "The Pest" her entire
life, he takes embarrassing her up a notch; by dumping the dessert creation
she made for his party all over her. It's not until Mike doesn't receive
her weekly letter that he realizes that his feelings for her are more
than of the brotherly sort. It's not going to be easy for him to win her
heart because now, there's two other men in the competition for her attention.
Will Mike finally get his act together and see what has been staring him
in the face or will the reinforcements have to take over?
Crème Brûlée Upset was a hilarious romantic
read that had me cheering for Patrice finally getting the man that deserves
her. Patrice was strong-willed but at the same time, she loved her family
and friends and would do anything to protect and make them happy. Mike
seemed self-centered but after you got under his skin or he got under
yours, you understood him a lot better. He also loved being in control
of every situation but seemed to have "foot in mouth syndrome"
when it came to Patrice. The secondary characters added just the right
amount of sugar and spice to make this story a winning recipe. This was
my first book by Ms. Bradley and I truly enjoyed my just desserts.
