From the first page of Chasing Shadows, Erin Richards
has you captive in her web of paranormal suspense. Her debut novel, I
am very impressed with the depth of her characters and detail to her plot.
The story only covers about one week’s time but with the memories
the back story is painted beautifully.
Juliana Westwood is a psychic, albeit for the most part an unwilling
one. She never craved the fame and fortune but after she started dreaming
about crimes she had no choice. When she finally headed back to her home
town after a long absence she also didn’t count on dreaming of a
kidnapping, or that it would be the niece of her long ago love, Alex MacKenzie.
Alex has grown hard over the years and closed off his heart to all but
his sister and niece. Struggling to come to terms with the many desertions
in his life, the one he’s never gotten over was the disappearance
of Juliana their senior year of high school. So he is far from prepared
when she strolls into the San Jose Police Station announcing she has had
a dream.
Chasing Shadows is about a hunt for a kidnapper and
so much more. The characters are chasing their own shadows and trying
to move through the darkness into the light and love they once had. The
suspense will keep you tied up in knots until the very end, and their
love story will pour liquid pleasure over your heart. Chasing
Shadows will definitely go on my keeper shelf and I look forward
to reading more by this very talented author.
