Synopsis:
In a crowded club in Tokyo on a Saturday night, Hannah is drowning her
bitter cynicism with hard liquor after being stood up for a date. When she
spots the most gorgeous man in the room, she can hardly believe so much male
beauty can exist all in one body but knows someone like him is out of her
league. Until he asks her to dance. Her cynicism melts in the heat between
them as they dance and it's not long before they decide to continue the
fireworks somewhere private.
Ryo is stunned when the sexy woman he slept with the night before is gone
the next morning. He decides to track her down. The mystery about his
profession gets complicated when it turns out that they both work for the
same company…and when Hannah comes across an internal memo that could get
her killed.

At 6’3 Hannah Williams is considered a giant in Japan,
and its hard to find a date when you tower over the men. Being one of the
few American translators in Japan, she spends many nights alone, or with her
friend April. One night, after being stood up—again—Hannah finds a man that
is so sexy, so handsome, so…tall. After having a few drinks, and one steamy
dance with her hunky stranger, when he suggests they leave, Hannah is all
for it.
Ryo Fujiwara knew the moment he laid eyes on the American Amazon that short
of dying, nothing was keeping him from her. He can barely finish their dance
without tearing her clothes off. When she agrees to leave with him, he knows
that they’re heading for a night neither will ever forget.
Just reading about their night together, and even I won’t forget it!
Thinking to save both of them the embarrassment of the morning after, Hannah
slips out of Ryo’s hotel room with a heart full of regrets. She doesn’t want
to leave, but she has such limited experience with the opposite sex that
she’s sure he wouldn’t want to wake up to her the next morning. She could
never know that after spending one night with her Ryo wants more than one
night, he wants as many as she’ll give him. When he awakens alone, he
realizes that he didn’t even get Hannah’s last name, or her number, so he
has no way of finding her. It’s only through a slight chance that he learns
her last name, and he’s on her trial in seconds. Ryo has always gotten what
he wants, and he wants Hannah.
On Monday, Hannah trudges into work, unable to get Ryo off her mind. The
company she transcribes for, Nippon Tobacco, owns most of the monstrous
building that she works in. When her boss asks her to help out in another
office for a special meeting, she’s stunned when she sees the man she had
spent an unforgettable night with, working security.
Ryo waits until Hannah leaves the office and follows her. At first he only
wants answers from her, but it doesn’t take long for the desire he feels for
her to take over any rational thought. Hannah tries to put up a good fight,
but she wants Ryo too much and he’s so very persuasive in getting what he
wants. Talk about a nooner!!!
But when Hannah reads a memo, a memo that tells that the cigarettes that
half the population smokes, Blues, is actually killing people faster than
old fashioned cigarettes, she goes to Ryo after making copies of the file to
have as proof.
When Hannah shows him her evidence, Ryo comes clean about a secret he’s been
hiding. He also knows that he and Hannah are running out of time and starts
putting a plan in motion that will get them out of Japan alive. But the
people that want to keep the memo quiet will kill whoever they have to, no
matter who it is to keep the information from leaking out.
Emotions run hot, and it’s a race against time and the enemy. The man of her
dreams has told her that he isn’t about to let her go, that the love and
life she’s always wanted is so close—that is if they can get out alive.
Without a doubt—this book as it all. The very fact that the heroine and I
could see almost eye to eye makes this one a favorite for me. Action packed,
loving packed, and boy do they get that loving down pat! I couldn’t put this
book down until I finished it. It became a keeper for me within the first
page, the plot and characters are well described, and I could honestly say
that I could see the future being this way. Ruby has got another hit on her
hands. Well, in my humble opinion anyway.
