A Rose Without Thorns
reminds us of some of the little things our mothers told us – “don’t judge a
book by its cover” and more importantly “everyone deserves a second chance!”
Carol and Brian are so cute together. Brian
is short but extremely buff and Carol is tall and muscular – even though she
doesn’t think she’s very feminine. She hasn’t had a relationship in a long
time. But once Brian gets one look at Carol at the physiotherapist’s office
he knows he wants more.
Brian pursues Carol and she doesn’t make it
easy on him. That is until she realizes how cruel and unfair she’s been
acting when he’s been nothing but kind. Once she opens herself up their
relationship blossoms. Author Yvonne Sarah Lewis does an excellent job of
letting her characters grow and move beyond their pasts as their
relationship buds and then blooms as they learn to love again.
I thought this was a great story and I
would definitely recommend it. The plot is well defined and the characters
very believable, Carol is one stubborn woman, and Brian’s pain is palpable
at times – I wanted to hug him myself. The supporting characters are
quirky and add lots of humor and steam to this erotic read. There is no
shortage of smoldering sex scenes – one more tantalizing than the next.
A Rose Without Thorns is a bouquet of beautiful red roses with just
enough “thorns” to keep you wanting more.
