Synopsis:
Seneca Manion had everything he wanted – especially in the only
woman he'd ever loved. They looked forward to their marriage, although
they believed they had been married in everything but name. Being taken
from his hotel room hours before his wedding told Seneca different.
Adrienne Hewitt loved Seneca and no one else. She didn't want the huge
wedding but her mother had insisted. She woke the morning of the wedding
to learn the love of her life was gone with no explanation, and with a
secret.
Can a matter of deception keep their love intact or will another man's
evil destroy them and those they love?

A Matter of Deception is the first book I’ve
read by Christy Poff and I wasn’t disappointed. From the first paragraph
we knew that Seneca and Adrienne were in love and destined to be together,
by the end of the chapter all of that was taken from them and more. Ms.
Poff wove a tale of such deep deception, torture and heartbreak I found
myself in tears several times while reading. I did not want to put this
book down until I had read the last word and knew how it all turned out.
I don’t want to give away any of this incredibly tense story. Rollercoaster
ride through a dark mountain wouldn’t even do this justice. Ms.
Poff put her characters through the wringer and gives them an extra twist
or two for good measure, can you say suffering, tortured existence? Not
for the squeamish A Matter of Deception is a damn good
book. It is headed for my keeper shelf, it is not passing go or anywhere
else. I can see that a I’ll be spending quite a bit of my hard earned
dollars on some more of Ms. Poff’s books, guess I’m just glutton
for punishment!
