Synopsis:

Gavin Saxton, the residing Earl of Brockington, is guilty - first of sleeping with another man’s wife and then causing the death of her husband. After spending the last three years in the British Army with his best friend, Edward Noble, the Duke of Carlisle, fate hands Gavin more than he wants when Edward’s dying wish is to take care of his wife, Sarah - the one woman on earth unlikely to accept his protection. After being neglected by a man she’d married for love, Sarah Noble carries a soul consuming bitterness like a badge of honor. With the gaping sadness at the loss of her husband and the loss of a child, Sarah’s future appears bleak – until an unexpected guest appears on her doorstep. To her chagrin, the man is no one other than Gavin Saxton - traitor, seducer, coward, and heartbreaker – professing his honor and protection.

Always Tomorrow is the new historical short story by debut author Shada Royce. Always Tomorrow tells the story of Gavin Saxton and Sarah Noble.  This story will pull at your heartstrings from the first page to the last.

We begin this story with Sarah’s husband, Edward, on his deathbed, asking Gavin to take care of her.  Gavin, already harboring guilty feelings for an incident that happened years ago, agrees to Edward’s dying wish.  The only problem is the Gavin is secretly in love with Sarah and having to take care and watch over her may prove to be the hardest thing he’ll ever have to do.

Sarah’s life is crumbling around her; not only is she dealing with the death of her husband, but she’s also dealing with the loss of her baby.  She is constantly reminded of her time with Gavin, before she was married to Edward.  Nothing can prepare her for the day he arrives at her door with news about the type of person Gavin really was.

Old sparks soon begin to fly between Gavin and Sarah and they soon find themselves dealing with their past.

I found Always Tomorrow to be a really good romance.  It’s definitely a book that I would recommend to not only historical romance readers but any romance reader looking for a short but very satisfying love story.  I was caught up in Gavin and Sarah’s relationship and I was thoroughly happy with how the story ended.  I look forward to reading more from this up and coming author.
