SRR:  Hi Marie.  Thank you so much for agreeing to be interviewed by Simply Romance Reviews.  Would you like to start by telling us a little bit about yourself?
Marie Rochelle:  First, let me thank you for taking this time out to interview me. I really appreciate it. Hmmm….well I write interracial romance between black women and white men. However, I do have an interracial romance between a black women and a Native American male. I love sitting down in front of the computer and getting myself lost in another world.

SRR:  Who are your favorite authors?
Marie Rochelle:  Oh, I like so many authors but some of my favorites are Christine Feehan, Marilyn Lee, Bridget Midway and so many more.

SRR:  What are you currently reading and what's in your TBR pile?
Marie Rochelle:  I’m currently reading a book my Marilyn Lee. I’ve several books in my TBR pile. I’m hoping to get to read more this summer. Right now, I’m so busy that I don’t have much time to read.

SRR:  How did you get started writing?
Marie Rochelle:  I’ve always been interested in writing but never took the leap until a few years ago. I wrote Taken by Storm and the rest is history.

SRR:  Who inspires you?
Marie Rochelle:  My fans inspire me. I love getting emails from them. I learn a lot from their opinions about my characters. I enjoy how they get lost in my books and that keeps me going.

SRR:  What is your favorite part about being an author and writing?
Marie Rochelle:  I guess my favorite part is bringing the characters in my head to life. I know that I want them to jump off the page for my fans and when I accomplish that it means a lot.

SRR:  What is your writing routine like?
Marie Rochelle:  My writing routine is usually where my characters take me. Sometimes I have one direction that I want them to go in but they usually end up taking me in a different direction every single time.

SRR:  Your stories are so real.  Are some of them taken from your everyday life experiences?  Or do you have a group of girlfriends that call you and say, "Girl, you aren't gonna believe this?"
Marie Rochelle:  Thank you so much for the compliment. I’m glad that you feel that realness when you read my stories. No. I’ve to say that all of my books come from my mind, but I try to make my characters as real as possible.

SRR:  You have mentioned that some of your characters want to occupy all of your time.  After you are done with a book, do the characters just go to the background or do they try to intrude on other's stories?
Marie Rochelle:  Oh, my characters never go away. They try to give me their opinions about the other books that I’m working on. So, they’re always around up to something.

SRR:  I know when you wrote Taking by Storm, you said that Julian McMahon was your muse for Storm.  When you are writing each story, do you have one muse that is always there or do different ones come to play?
Marie Rochelle:  Oh…my muse always changes for my characters. Each man has his own personality and I love that about my characters. It’s always so much fun learning about them.

SRR:  Why did you choose to write interracial romances?
Marie Rochelle:  I decided to write interracial romances because I think that is the most beautiful relationship a person can have. I love seeing people of different races and backgrounds finding love with each other

SRR:  Can you give us a sneak peak as to what you have in store for your readers this year
Marie Rochelle:  Oh, I’ve several books coming out this year.  However, first I want to mention that I have several interracial romances out now through Red Rose Publishing. www.redrosepublishing.com. They are Beneath the Surface, Cover Model, Be With You, With all my Heart and Pamper Me.
